Job Title: Operations Manager – Security Services

Department: Security OperationsReports To: Director of Operations / General ManagerLocation: [Site/Regional/Corporate Office]

Job Purpose

To plan, direct, and oversee all security operations across client sites, ensuring optimal deployment of manpower and technology, adherence to SOPs, statutory compliance, and delivery of high-quality security services that meet client expectations and contractual SLAs.

Key Responsibilities

1. Operations Management

  • Oversee day-to-day security operations across all assigned sites/branches.
  • Ensure adequate deployment of security guards, supervisors, and equipment as per client contracts.
  • Monitor site visits, patrols, and inspections to ensure operational discipline.
  • Handle escalations, incidents, and emergencies promptly with corrective action.

2. Manpower Planning & Management

  • Plan roster, shift schedules, and manpower allocation to avoid shortages/overlaps.
  • Recruit, train, and deploy security personnel in coordination with HR.
  • Monitor attendance, discipline, grooming, and performance of guards/supervisors.
  • Reduce attrition through engagement and welfare initiatives.

3. Client Relationship Management

  • Act as primary point of contact for clients regarding security operations.
  • Conduct regular client meetings, site audits, and feedback reviews.
  • Ensure SLA compliance and address client grievances promptly.
  • Identify opportunities for upselling additional services (technology, manpower, etc.)

4. Compliance & Documentation

  • Ensure compliance with PSARA (Private Security Agencies Regulation Act) and labour laws.
  • Maintain statutory records: licenses, police verification, PF/ESI, contracts, etc.
  • Ensure proper documentation of incident reports, occurrence books, and audit trails.

5. Training & Quality Control

  • Conduct/oversee regular training programs (fire safety, first aid, SOPs, soft skills).
  • Implement quality checks through surprise audits and mock drills.
  • Ensure use of technology (CCTV, access control, guard tour systems) is optimized.

6. Financial & Cost Management

  • Monitor site-wise profitability, overtime costs, and manpower budgets.
  • Control costs related to uniforms, equipment, and manpower deployment.
  • Support billing and invoicing accuracy in coordination with finance.

7. Team Leadership

  • Lead a team of Area/Site Supervisors and Security Officers.
  • Conduct performance appraisals and identify training needs.
  • Foster a culture of accountability, discipline, and service excellence.

  • Strong leadership and team management skills
  • Knowledge of security protocols, PSARA Act, and labour law compliance
  • Client relationship and communication skills
  • Crisis management and problem-solving ability
  • Proficiency in MS Office/ERP systems for reporting
  • Ex-servicemen/Police background preferred (common industry norm)

Qualifications & Experience

  • Graduate (any discipline); preference for candidates with a background in Defence/Police/Paramilitary
  • 8–15 years of experience in security operations, with at least 3–5 years in a managerial role
  • Experience in facility management or security services industry preferred
